Adoption Fees
The adoption fee for puppies and kittens includes: the first distemper vaccine (puppies and kittens), canine rabies vaccine (for puppies over 16 weeks of age), deworming, defleaing, a basic spay/neuter at Hillside Veterinary Hospital, a microchip, a free veterinary exam at Royal Oak Pet Clinic within 7 days of adoption, and a free trial of pet health insurance.
The adoption fee for all other cats/dogs includes: the first distemper vaccine (cats and dogs), canine rabies vaccine (for dogs only), deworming, defleaing, spay or neuter (done prior to adoption), a microchip, a free veterinary exam at Royal Oak Pet Clinic within 7 days of adoption, and a free trial of pet health insurance.
The adoption fee for all other species includes: a free exam at Royal Oak Pet Clinic within 7 days of adoption, treatment for parasites, spay/neuter prior to adoption when appropriate, the first set of vaccines when appropriate, and a microchip for identification when appropriate.
Adoption Fees are as Follows:
Cats
Kittens (up to 12 months of age) $350 + PST
Adult Cats (1 yr – 8yrs) $250 + PST
Senior Cats (9 yrs and older) $200 + PST
Special Needs Cats (other than kittens) $200 + PST
Dogs
Puppies (8 weeks – 11 months) $550 + PST
Adult Dogs (1 yr – 8yrs) $400 + PST
Senior Dogs (9 yrs and older) $250 + PST
Special Needs dogs (other than puppies) $250 + PST
Other Animals
Rabbits $40 + PST
Guinea Pigs $25 + PST
Rats/hamsters $15 ($20 if spayed/neutered) + PST
Mice $10 + PST
Adoption fees for other species may vary.
PST is British Columbia’s Provincial Sales Tax (7%). We are required to charge it on all adoption fees.
