If you are looking for a snuggle bug, Ash might be the right guy for you. He is a young (1 year old) boy who can’t get enough attention. He enjoys cuddle sessions and will purr non-stop.
Ash was abandoned on a property by whomever used to care for him and he found the change quite scary. Fortunately, there were a few other cats abandoned at the same time, so Ash had some friends to lean on and find strength in. When he was first rescued, this poor guy was quite scared and struggled with the change, but he quickly discovered that not all people are bad and he has really started to come out of his shell.
Once Ash gets to know you, he’s really sweet. He can’t get enough attention and cuddles! Ash absolutely loves to curl up in the lap of his favourite people and get chin rubs. He drools non-stop when he’s happy, so it’s easy to tell when he’s comfortable. In fact, he drools so much that his new owner will need to be content with wet pet sessions. By the time Ash is done getting love, his whole head is usually soaked from his own drool.
Due to the fact that Ash was dumped outside by his previous owner, he seems to have some separation anxiety. He does not do well when alone or confined and he’ll cry. When Ash is around other cats he seems comfortable and his anxiety dissipates. Therefore, it will be important for him to go to a home where there are other cats that will want to be his friends. He’s a bit submissive, so another friendly cat will be a better fit than a dominant one.
We have not seen Ash around dogs. He doesn’t like fast movements or loud sounds, so he wont be happy in a home with a barky or hyper dog, but he may do ok in a home with an older, quiet dog that gives Ash his space. He will not do well in a home with young children, although older kids/teens with a quiet demeanor might be Ok. Whatever Ash’s new family looks like, it will be important that there is either a human, or another cat around for a majority of the day to spend time with him. He will not do well in a home with someone who works full time.
