Opal

Available

This pretty little kitty is Opal and she’ll be ready to go to her forever home in early November once she heals up from being spayed. She is 6 months old and is a tiny little girl. Despite that, she’s very social and sweet and will make a great addition to her new family.

Opal plays hard and often but is also great at her daily cat naps. She is most active first thing in the morning and loves doing zoomies. She enjoys playing with toys on a stick as well as lasers and doing wild leaps in the air. She would really like a home with someone who has time to play with her and keep her mentally stimulated.

Opal’s favourite lounging positions are on her cat perch or cat bed by a window so that she can watch hummingbirds, people, dogs, and cars go by on the street. She likes to know what’s going on around her so prefers to have a good view! She would love a home with a catio that she can go out into and watch the comings and goings of the neighbourhood.

Miss Opal is very social and is not afraid to meet new people. She follows her foster mom from room to room so that she can stay near her. She really enjoys hanging out with her people and would prefer that her human be home for much of the day so that she’s not alone. Opal is comfortable with being picked up and carried.

Although we haven’t seen Opal around children, we think it would be best if she were in a home with older kids. She’s a youngster so uses her mouth during play sometimes and may not be a good fit for young kids because of this. Older kids or teens that handle her gently would likely be fine. We have not seen Opal around dogs or other cats but she’s perfectly happy being the only pet in the home, so a family where she can be the center of attention would be great for her.
