Taz & Elmer

Available

Taz & Elmer are brothers who are looking for a special home where they will be kept together. They were rescued from a hoarding situation and unfortunately were under-socialized during their first year of life. These two kitties are absolutely beautiful Maine Coon crosses, so they turn a lot of heads, but it will be important that they find the right home to help them thrive. They’re very bonded and love to curl up together, so it’s important that they be adopted together.

These two brothers are a stunning pair of cats with personalities as unique as their bond! Though they are initially shy, once they feel comfortable, their playful and quirky natures truly shine. They love nothing more than chasing each other around the house, basking in the sun on their cat tree, watching TV and gazing out the window. These brothers are curious kitties who will eventually bond with their new family. Both boys are still young (just over 1 year of age) so in time they will likely become more comfortable being handled. However, their new family must be cat-experienced and be willing to give the cats time to blossom at their own pace.

Taz is the bigger of the two and also the more affectionate. His favorite part of the day is the pre-dinner petting session; he can’t get enough of it! Though it took him time to adjust, he now spends his days napping, playing, and seeking out attention. While he’s not a fan of being picked up, he’ll gladly let you rub his belly when he’s in the mood. Taz isn’t fond of closed doors and will let you know with persistent meows until they’re opened. His love for food made him easy to win over, and it’s the quickest way to his heart!

Elmer is smaller and a bit more reserved, but he loves being near his humans. While he hasn’t quite worked up the courage to let his foster family pet him yet, he happily shares the room and keeps them company—especially during movie nights when he’ll sit across the couch. Unlike Taz, Elmer isn’t as motivated by treats but can’t resist kitty yogurt tubes. He’s the more playful of the duo and is absolutely obsessed with plastic springs. Watching him wrestle with Taz is endlessly entertaining and gives a glimpse into his fun-loving side.

Since these boys came from a home with a large number of other cats, they are comfortable around other felines. However, they will do well being in a home as the only two pets as well. Since they have long hair, they will really benefit from regular grooming, so once they are more comfortable being pet, regular bushing will be a good way to bond with them as well.

Neither Taz nor Elmer are comfortable with children, or with dogs. They are looking for a quiet, adult-only, cat-experienced home that is willing to help them progress at their own pace, and learn to trust people. If you take the time to allow these boys to come out of their shells, you won’t regret it. Together, Taz and Elmer make a delightful and dynamic duo, ready to bring joy and laughter to their forever home!
