Spice - Adoption Pending

This gorgeous kitten is Spice. She is the mini version of her mother: sweet, cuddly and athletic. Spice's mother is a lean and tiny cat and we suspect Spice will grow up to be the same. She is loving, gentle, and snuggly but she can also keep up with her 3 brothers. She does really enjoy spending time with the other cats and will do best in a home with an existing cat that will mother her. She is a bit of a momma's girl and we think she'd love an older brother to snuggle up to. Spice has never met a dog before but she will likely do well with one if introduced properly.

Spice and her siblings came into our care at about 6-8 weeks of age and they were terribly ill. They had the worst upper respiratory and eye infections that we'd ever seen. They are in good health now, but they will always show some symptoms of their past. Feline upper respiratory complex is caused by Feline Herpes Virus, and just like someone who had chicken pox as a child is prone to Shingles if they become stressed or ill as an adult. cats with FHV are prone to getting kitty colds in the future. Therefore, it will be important for Spice to be an indoor-only cat, and she may have symptoms such as runny eyes or sneezing at times in the future. It will be imperative that any existing cats in Spice's new home be up to date on their vaccines. If you are not familiar with FHV, please ask your vet about it to determine if this kitten will be a good fit for your home.
