This adorable little guy is Beans. He is a fun-loving cat who really likes to play. He loves all kinds of toys, especially ones that rattle, make noise, or that he can carry around the house. He has been in a foster home with a few other kittens and he enjoys playing with them, but he's also independent and can keep himself entertained, as long as he has toys. Beans responds to his name and is very talkative. He loves to tell you about his day and to talk to the toys he's playing with. We estimate that he's about 6 months old.

Although Bean's doesn't really like to be picked up and carried around the house, he is very snuggly and if you're sitting on the couch watching TV or are in bed, he wants to be sitting with you. Beans has a fantastic purr and likes to share it with everyone. He's used to other cats and would do well with a big brother or sister, but he'd do ok in a home of his own too. While he isn't overly excited about dogs, Beans has met dogs at a distance and can probably be introduced to one if done properly. Beans is social but a little quieter than his foster-friends, so he'd prefer a home with older kids (as opposed to younger ones) or an adult home.

When Beans and his friends came into our care they were terribly ill. Beans had a bad case of pneumonia and we weren't sure if he would make it past the first few days. He has healed up and is in good health now, but he will always show some symptoms of his past. Feline upper respiratory complex is caused by Feline Herpes Virus, and just like someone who had chicken pox as a child is prone to Shingles if they become stressed or ill as an adult, cats with FHV are prone to getting kitty colds in the future. Therefore, it will be important for Beans to be an indoor-only cat, and he may have symptoms such as runny eyes or sneezing at times in the future. It will be imperative that any existing cats in Bean's new home be up to date on their vaccines. If you are not familiar with FHV, please ask your vet about it to determine if this kitten will be a good fit for your home.
