Adoptions on Hold for Halloween

Adoptions on Hold for Halloween

On behalf of everyone at Victoria Pet Adoption Society we'd like to thank you for caring about rescued pets and sharing the photos, stories, and events that are posted here. For the safety of the animals in our care, we have placed a hold on all adoptions until after the Halloween weekend. While Halloween is a lot of fun for children of all ages, the costumes, fireworks, decorations, and noises can be frightening for some pets, especially those that are new to a home and have not yet settled in.

Join us in Oak Bay Village on October 31st for their annual Trick or Treat celebrations! Oak Bay Avenue will be closed to traffic as they host a variety of entertainment including stilt walking, juggling, poi spinning, fortune telling, and hula hoop performances to create a circus-like atmosphere. Live music by Dave Lang and the Insolent Rabble will keep the ghosts, goblins and superheroes groovin’.

Victoria Pet Adoption Society has just launched our Fall Photo Fundraiser! This fundraiser is a meaningful way to celebrate your furry (and not so furry) family members while helping to provide care to pets who are waiting for a home of their own. You and your friends can vote to win great prizes, including a custom pastel portrait of your pet! The photo contest is absolutely free to enter and votes are cast with a donation of just $1 each. What better way to have some fun, win some great prizes, and help pets find their happily-ever-afters! Contest closes October 31st.

Purdy's Chocolates is a local (Vancouver, BC) chocolate company that strongly supports community programs in BC. Each year, Purdy's supports Victoria Pet Adoption Society by donating 25% of the value of all orders placed through the linked, customized website below, back to VPAS. The funds raised through the Purdy's Holiday Program allow us to provide much needed medical care for homeless pets that are waiting to find their happily-ever-after.

Foster Homes Needed

Foster Homes Needed

We are looking for foster homes for a number of cats/kittens and bunnies. Fostering can be an extremely rewarding experience that allows you to help a pet, or family of pets, in their journey toward finding a new forever home. It can also be a great way to find out if pet ownership is right for you, before you commit to adding a new member to your family permanently. If you would like to learn more about our foster program please visit our foster page here http://victoriapets.ca/index.php?q=node/1681.
